Sump pumps are used to ensure that basement areas are kept dry and protected from flooding. They are mainly used in domestic buildings, but are suitable for use in industrial installations such as water / waste water treatment plants, too. We can offer you the following types.
Pedestal sump pumps are electrically powered and stand upright with the motor unit a few feet above the pump to keep dry at all times. When the water reaches a certain level, a float-activated switch turns the pump on. They are ideal for frequent use, but are quite noisy during operation.
The submersible alternative is installed in ground and works underwater. Again they are activated by a float-switch, and at a higher price they offer quieter operation. Their sealed, oil-cooled motors are protected from moisture and dust. The water powered pumps also have a float-activated switch and generally handle water at a much slower rate than the electric ones. They run off the water pressure of the plumbing system and usually serve as back-ups for electric pumps during power failures. | ![]() | |
