Ozone technology used to be limited almost exclusively to the disinfection of potable water. However, new developments in ozone generators have led to a broadened application of this technology to other fields such as bleaching of cellulose and purification of highly polluted industrial wastewater. In essence, ozone generation is one cost-efficient and environmentally friendly method of oxidization which offers an optimised BOD/COD ratio, odour elimination, disinfection and improved filtration characteristics and water surfaces. The ozone generators in our programme generate ozone on site from oxygen-containing gases by means of a silent electrical discharge. A high voltage is applied between two concentrically arranged electrodes. The electrodes are separated from each other by a dielectric and two discharge chambers, through which gas flows. Some of the oxygen molecules in the input gas break down in the electric field and immediately attach themselves to free oxygen molecules, forming ozone. In this manner ozone yields of 1 to 16 % by weight can be achieved in the production gas with energy consumption ranging between 12 and 18 kW/kg ozone. When industrial oxygen is used, the power can be reduced to 6 to 10 kW/kg.
A wide range of substances can be oxidized with ozone including nitrite, cyanide, chlorinated hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulphide and other odorous substances. The ozone generators we offer you feature no transport risks, as the ozone is produced where it is needed, low maintenance costs, no harmful or carcinogenic by-products, no use of dangerous chemicals and no residual substance. Furthermore their design and operation is simple and reliable. |
