| Comminutors are installed in the wastewater flow channel to screen and shred material to sizes from 6 to 19 mm without removing particles from the flow. Many small plants continue to use comminutors. The use of such a device is intended to reduce odors, flies, and unsightliness often associated with screenings that are handled by other means and essentially eliminate screenings removal and handling. |
