Chlorination/Declorination Systems
Chlorination by means of sodium hypochlorite should be considered for small community water systems. One of the advantages of having chlorine as a disinfectant is that the portion of chlorine that is not used up in destroying or disinfecting bacteria remains in the water as residual chlorine. The residual chlorine is needed to react with any bacteria that might enter the water supply after treatment.
